Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens The Canon EF100-400mm has a long-reaching telephoto zoom characterized by a sophisticated optical design and advanced image stabilization technologies. The presence of fluorite element as well as Super UD element in the making of the lens delivers significant clarity, image sharpness, and faithful color reproduction as a result of significant reduction of aberrations and distortions over the entire zoom range. Front and rear elements of this lens are also coated with fluorine in order to protect it against fingerprints and smudges and hence the image quality is unaffected. Handheld shooting is further well taken care of by a redeveloped rotation-type zoom ring pairs with an internal focusing mechanism, and an Ultrasonic Motor, which cumulatively delivers both quick and intuitive handling. There are three further dedicated image stabilization modes that the lens has, namely; Standard, Panning and During Exposure Only. These can be selectively applied depending on the type of shooting, and this makes the lens very versatile. Telephoto zoom is also compatible with APS-C format models as well.Designed and housed within an all-weather barrel, the lens is well protected and can be safely used in any weather conditions whether it’s dust or moisture. Fast, precise and quiet autofocus performance is achieved through optimized focusing algorithms and a high-speed CPU combined with a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM). These also achieve a full-time manual focus override. The ET-83D lens hood is included. The purpose of this is to incorporate a side window for easier adjustment of rotating filters with the hood intact in its place.
